The bane of most closet designers is a poorly positioned door. Up to 6' of valuable hang space can be given up to the inswing of a door set a few inches left or right of ideal. As you review the building plans for your next closet project consider these very useful points:

Bi-swing hinged doors provide up to 90% access
Bi-folds are an option that will provide 67% minimal access
By-Pass (Sliding) are limited access, as 50% of the opening is always blocked
