Portland Closet Company was founded in 1985 to help people organize their spaces and simplify their lives. At the start, our panel and shelf system consisted of 5/8” painted, locally-sourced particle board. We’ve grown a lot since then, and today manufacture melamine laminate and hardwood veneer panels and components using our state of the art precision European machinery.
We’re committed to being local and sustainable. We’ve remained independent – therefore not a franchise – in order to do as much business as possible, with local companies, which keeps more money in OUR local economy. Also, we follow green business practices whenever possible and have partnered with Energy Trust to reduce our carbon footprint and offer sustainable, environmentally friendly products.
